The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, April 20 at La Grange City Hall, 155 E. Colorado in La Grange. There will be two speakers. Amy Mundy, District Director from Texas Federation of Republican Women, will give a brief history of TFRW and its impact on Republican politics over the past several decades. Also, Cindy Seigel, Harris County Republican Party Chairman, will share what they are doing in her county to restore election integrity. La Grange Senior Citizens Group
The La Grange Senior Citizens annual meeting/luncheon will be held at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange, on Thursday, April 20. Registration will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Cash door prizes will be awarded to ten lucky attendees who have registered by 10:15 a.m. The meeting starts at 10:30 a.m., followed by a program presented by Fayette Savings Bank on “Financial Interests for Senior Citizens.” Lunch consisting of chicken breast and sides will be served at 11:30 a.m. for $5. Open Mic Night
Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) is hosting Open Mic Nights. These are held every third Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the FCCT Box Office and Studio at 120 S. Washington St. in La-Grange. The next Open Mic Night will be held April 20. Bring your musical, comedic, or dramatic talent to share, or just sit back and enjoy the talents of your community. Online Cake Auction
The La Grange Chamber of Commerce is having its second annual Online Facebook Cake Auction on April 21 with 10% of the proceeds to be donated to the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter.
Adult Computer Classes Adult computer classes will be held Friday, April 21 at the Fayette Public Library from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. 80’s Party Event
Two local non-profits are teaming up for a 80s night benefit on Saturday, April 22, beginning at 6 p.m. at Mac’s Daqs, 108 W. Colorado St. in La Grange. Celebrate the 1980s with music by DJ Czech Mixx, light snacks, drink specials, dance and costume contests, and fun photo booth. Proceeds will benefit Fayette County Habitat for Humanity and Fayette County Community Theatre.
Curb-Side Bulk Trash Pickup The City of La Grange has designated Saturday, April 22, as Residential Bulk Curbside Pick-Up Day for the hard-to-dispose bulky items that are difficult for you to drop off during our semiannual cleanup. Waste Management will pick up one free load of bulky items on this day. All items should be within three feet of the curb by 5 p.m. on Friday. Trucks will be starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning to pick up items from the entire city. Bulk items include: stoves, refrigerators and air conditioners which have been tagged and certified as being “freon free” by a licensed technician, microwaves, water heaters, washing machines/dryers, barbecues, mattresses, chairs, recliners, couches and other furniture. Bulk items not accepted include: tires, paint, chemicals, batteries, tile/toilets/bath tubs, mirrors/glass, cinder blocks/ bricks/rocks, construction debris, televisions/computer monitors, motor oil or used filters. St. James BBQ & Bake Sale
The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club will hold a barbecue and the Women will hold a bake sale Saturday, April 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St across from H-E-B. A half chicken is $5 and a sausage link is $7. The meal is drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of Fayette County Habitat for Humanity.
CDA No. 1962 Meeting
CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum will be meeting on Monday, April 24, in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewcz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. Members are invited to attend. New members are always welcome.
