Flatonia’s Steubing Dies in Auto Accident

Richard Steubing, 79, of Flatonia died in a two-vehicle accident just south of Cistern on Highway 95 Saturday afternoon, according to the incident report from Texas Department of Public Transportation trooper Robby Pennartz.

Steubing was a passenger in a 2005 Chevy Cavalier that crossed the center stripe at a curve in the road and struck a 2007 Lincoln MKX driven by Linda Crump, 74, also of Flatonia.

Crump was injured in the incident and transported to St. David’s -Austin and was in stable condition.

Two teens in the Cavalier were also seriously injured and transported to Dell-Seton where they were in stable condition.
