FISD Interviews Six Coaching Semi-Finalists

The Flatonia ISD Board of Trustees interviewed candidates last week for the open position of athletic director and head football coach. Superintendent Chris Sodek said the selection committee selected eight candidates for interviews. Two of those withdrew from the race, Sodek said. The selection committee interviewed the remaining six candidates. The interviews wrapped up last Friday. Sodek said the committee would select a finalist and announce their decision at an upcoming meeting. Their next scheduled meeting is Feb. 16. Sodek said the school board may call a special meeting before that date to take action on the athletic director position. Sodek declined to name the candidates interviewed last week, citing confidentiality concerns. The Record filed an open records request for resumes of the interviewed candidates.
