The La Grange Volunteer Fire Department lent a hand when the water pipes froze at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter this week.

The kennels at the shelter in La Grange need to be cleaned daily. So when the pipes froze on Monday, the shelter called the fire department for some help.

Fire Chief Frank Menefee and a few of the firefighters showed up with fire trucks to wash down the kennels. They helped out again on Tuesday morning because the pipes were still frozen.
