Feb. 5 is Deadline to Register to Vote in Primaries

The voter registration deadline for the March 5 Primary Election is Feb. 5. Anyone who needs to make changes to their voter registration must do so by Feb. 5 as well. New voter registration certificates were mailed to every active voter in Fayette County on Dec. 5. If you did not receive one, then you may not be registered to vote. If you have any questions, contact the Fayette County Elections Office (979) 968-6563.

Early voting in the Primary Election begins on Tuesday, Feb. 20. All early voting will take place in the Early Voting Room at the Fayette County Elections Office, located in the back of the building at 275 Ellinger Rd. in La Grange.

Early voting days and times are listed below:

• Tuesday, Feb. 20, through Friday, Feb. 23, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.,

• Saturday, Feb. 24, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.,

• Sunday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and

• Monday, Feb. 26, through Friday, March 1, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Applications for ballot by mail are available online at https://www.co.fayette.tx.us/

upload/page/1737/2023/61f. pdf. The application must be received no later than the close of business on Friday, Feb. 23. Those applications may be sent by mail to Terri Hefner, Elections Administrator, 275 Ellinger Rd., Suite A, La Grange, Texas 78945; or by fax to (979) 968-6426; or by email to fcbbm@co.fayette. tx.us.

If you fax or email an application for ballot by mail, you must still mail the original to the Elections Office within four days of the date that you emailed or faxed your application.
