Fayetteville City Council Candidates Must File by Feb. 13
In addition to Tuesdays, the Fayetteville City Dump is now taking recyclables on Friday mornings from 7:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. No change to regular hours of operation for trash.
Due to the Presidents Day holiday on Feb. 16, the City Council meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The deadline to apply for the three Fayetteville City Council positions up for reelection is Friday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m. Qualified candidates must be a registered voter and reside in the Fayetteville city limits. To file, contact City Secretary Sandee at

The Fayetteville Economic Development Corporation will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 11. All are all welcome to attend. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 7 p.m.
Westside Shamrock
Westside Shamrock plans to open this Saturday, Feb. 7 offering breakfast tacos and more. Regular hours are Sunday through Wednesday, 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. The store is open until 10 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. Co-owner Rosa Moore stated, “We accept all major credit cards and our gas pumps will be operational in a few weeks.” Stay tuned for details on an upcoming open house celebration.

“Gumbo to Geaux” is served to-go only by the Fayetteville/Ellinger KCs on Friday, Feb. 13 from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Parish Hall. The chicken and sausage gumbo with rice is $15 per 16 oz. serving. Advance purchase only and tickets may be purchased from KC members or call (979) 249-6003, (979) 966-7207 or (979) 249-7449. Airplane Band
Join The Airplane Band featuring Mason Dykowski, Alvin Minarcik, Gilbert Gaertner, Bookie Allen and Tom Bull at Heh Remember When on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 7:30 - 11 p.m. Kick up your boots to everything from country, blues and rock to Czech, German and Cajun hits. Heh Remember When is located at 3031 N. FM 1291.
Southern Stars Band
On Saturday, Feb. 21, Heh Remember When will feature The Southern Stars Band. The local band offers up some pretty sweet tunes, ranging from traditional country to classic rock.
Pancake Supper
St. Paul Lutheran church in Fayetteville is hosting an All-you-care-to-eat pancakes supper on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 5 - 6:30 p.m. A freewill offering will be donated to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department.
Mobile Food Pantry
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, Feb 11 from 10 - 11 a.m. Walk up to the entrance and bring bags or carts for pickup.
St. Paul Lutheran
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church
St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Fayetteville Brethren
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 - 9:45 a.m.
