Fayette Public Library Summer Reading Program Kicks Off

The Fayette Public Library in La Grange will kick off its annual summer reading program in June. This year’s theme is “All Together Now.”

To sign up for the program, children will need to have a card with the Fayette Public Library, which is free to all Fayette County residents. All families will need to do is go to the library and let the clerk know they would like to participate, and they will receive a booklet in return to log all books their children read over the summer. The following events will begin on Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. on the library lawn and will be free to attend:

June 7, Creature Teacher: An event for kids to explore and learn about animals;

June 14, Austin Reptile Show: presentation about reptiles from around the world;

June 21, John O’Bryant Magic: Magician John O’Bryant will present his amazing skills and tricks;

June 28, The Real Mad Hatter: A puppet show full of laughs and shenanigans. This event will be held at the Historic Casino Hall at 254 N. Jefferson St.;

July 5, BK Bones: The Dinosaur Lady will show why paleontology rocks;

July 12, Mobile Learning Barn: A fun, educational handson experience;

July 19, Science Shows!: A presentation full of magic tricks and laughs
