The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, March 18 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.

This month the opry will feature Steven Kidwell, Harmony Brook, and Victor Rodriguez.

Steven Kidwell started his music career at an early age. He was eight when he stepped on his first professional stage, with his mentor and superstar, Charlie Daniels. Before the performance to a sold out show, Steven received his first piece of professional advice. Charlie asked “Steven, are you scared boy?” to which Steven replied, “yes sir.” Charlie Daniels then said “good, if there is ever a time that you step onstage and ya aren’t nervous, then you are doing it all wrong.”

Steven has written, composed and recorded three albums, his fourth and latest album, “Memories And Milestones” has been hailed as one of the best albums to come out of Nashville, Tenn. in the last 10 years. It has many facets combining true country, southern Rock, and blues. His producers are Adam Knight and Christopher Latham, both are powerhouse producers in the Nashville area. Steven brought the music and his producers gave the album its soul by bringing in the top musicians in Nashville. To get the perfect sound, both bands used are well known by name alone, Reba McEntire’s band and George Straits, Ace In The Hole Band, as well as guitar by Vince Gill to round out the sound. In addition, he has won five Gold and Five Platinum Disc Awards in the past 3 years.

Harmony Brook Carraway is 14-years-old and is the 4th generation in a family of performers, starting with her great grandfather Martin Helton. She has been singing since the age of 9 and made her solo debut at the Farm Street Opry, at the age of 12. She has been in numerous Bastrop Opera House productions. She has appeared in “Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” “Matlilda,” “Seussical” and “Shrek the Musical.” Most recently she starred opposite her aunt Kelsey in “Freaky Friday.” Her grandmother and great aunt are sister Sue and her mom, Candice performs with her aunt Kelsey. Her family roots run deep in traditional country and rock-a-billy and Harmony is honored to be a part of the Opry in La Grange.

Victor Rodriguez was born in Big Spring and has lived in Flatonia most of his life. Truck driver by trade, entertainer by heart, Victor Rodriguez started entertaining people with DJ Music/Karaoke in 1998. He picked up his first guitar and started taking lessons in 2006. His love for good ole country music just keeps on growing. As a youngster he enjoyed watching HeeHaw, The Grand Ole Opry and listening to his grandfather play a guitar in a Spanish band.

He played with a band in 2008 and started “The Second Chance Band” in 2011. In 2012 he began the Music Entertainment Co. accompanied by his wife Tracy. He is still going strong playing locally in surrounding venues throughout Bastrop, Colorado, Fayette and Lavaca Counties etc. Offering DJ/Karaoke/ Live Music weekly. Vic considers it a good performance if he keeps his audience on the dance floor all night. While singing tunes by Merle Haggard, Brooks & Dunn, Johnny Rodriguez and many other great artist including his favorite George Strait. One of his most rewarding performance is when he has the opportunity to sing in church. He considers his talent a gift from God and what a blessing it is to share it with others. Still pursuing his dreams and goals to record his own music cd one day. He looks forward to see where this journey will take him next.

Be sure to be with the Fayette County Country Music Club on Monday, March 18, 2024 for this great line of entertainment.
