The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) presents ‘Now and Then’by Sean Grennan Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at the famous Freyburg Hall outside of Schulenburg.

This heartfelt romantic comedy is set in a 1981 bar in Chicago. Jamie, the young bartender, is closing up when a frantic, mysterious older man enters. The stranger offers Jamie and his girlfriend Abby $2,000 just to sit and have a drink with him for an hour. As they talk, the stranger tells an unbelievable story that connects deeply to the young couple’s future choices. Julie Couch, with her assistant Aaron Rainey, directs Now and Then performed by four area actors. “My favorite kind of play is one that stays with you long after you leave the theater,” says Couch. The cast and crew are also traveling to Freyburg Hall to perform this play, and Couch loves the location and notes “in addition to its historic character, the hall is simply a gorgeous venue. It feels like a perfect partnership for a play set in a bar.” Tickets for the Friday performance include lite bites/ appetizers and two drink tickets for beer, wine, soda, or water and are $35. Tickets for the Saturday performance include a full dinner and two drink tickets for $65. Freyburg Hall will have a cash bar available as well.
