Fayette County 4-H Students Compete at Texas Roundup
Numerous Fayette County 4-H students competed in the 2022 Texas 4-H Roundup at Texas A&M University in College Station on June 7-9, 2022.
Texas 4-H Roundup is the pinnacle event for all of Texas 4-H, with senior 4-H members competing in approximately 50 diverse competitions throughout the week-long event. The majority of the events require each individual or team to qualify at the county and district level.
Laura Beth James received a $20,000 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship. Karli Siptak received a $10,000 Richard Wallrath Scholarship. Brynn Mikulenka received a $4,500 Stiles Farm Foundation Scholarship. All scholarships were awarded through the Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship Program.
Austin Nedbalek, Aidan Miksch, and Madeline Willrich competed in the Consumer Decision Making Contest and were 19th overall. Aidan was sixth high point individual.
Kaylee Hensley, Kaelan Freytag, Railey Nieto, and Haley Schramek competed in the Livestock Judging Contest and placed 26th overall.
Alivia Eindorf competed in the Horse Judging Contest.
Cooper Mau, Harper Mau, Mackenzie Poncik, and Cash Smith competed in the Family and Community Health Quiz Bowl and was the Reserve Champion Team.
Cooper Mau, Harper Mau, Mackenzie Poncik, and Cash Smith competed in the Food Challenge Contest and placed third in the Side Dish Category.
