Fayette Co. Fair Kick-Off Weekend

The real Fayette County Fair begins Thursday Aug. 31, but there are several events on the grounds in La Grange this weekend as part of what is being billed as Fair Kick-off Weekend – and there’s no admission. The BBQ cook off is being held this weekend, with awards about 5 p.m. Saturday followed by a free concert by David Lewis. The commercial heifer show begins at 1 p.m. Saturday and a goat roping competition begins at 8 pm. Saturday. Other Saturday events include the fourth annual fair’s 5K run (at Blissful Folly Farm), a car show and cornhole tournament at 11 a.m. Sunday is the bucket calf show at 4 p.m. File photo by Andy Behlen
