Ag Day sponsored by the Fayette County Farm Bureau took place on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

More than 260 fourth graders from all schools in Fayette County attended the program at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange. Agriculture producers and experts from around the County provided handson instruction about how food and fiber gets from the farm to stores and supermarkets.

Students learned about dairy operations, beef cattle production, sheep and goat herding for both food and fiber, beekeeping, horticulture, wildlife and grain farming.

Students and teachers enjoyed a hamburger lunch prepared by Farm Bureau volunteers and served by first responders from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
