The handbell choir from Faith Lutheran High School, located in Warda, successfully competed in the state music competition hosted by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). The event was at the Cultural Activities Center in Temple on Friday, March 27.

The handbell choir was judged on their Level 2 performance of “Now Sing, We Now Rejoice!”, a piece arranged by Sondra Tucker. The judge, Dr. Bob Avant, of Baylor University, scored the performance as a 1-Superior. His comments included, “Good energy, good technique, loved the tempo and the overall presentation tipped the scale for me.” The choir also performed a Level 2+ exhibition piece, “Thine is the Glory” also arranged by Tucker. The group also enjoyed watching handbell choirs from Fredericksburg, Tomball and Katy perform.
