Faith Lutheran High School Announces Spring Raffle

Tickets are now available for the Faith Lutheran High School Spring Raffle. The Board of Directors have put together an amazing slate of items, including a $1500 travel voucher, $1400 Stihl package, handmade quilt, dessert of the month, plus many other great items. Tickets are $20 each and the drawing will be held the week of March 2-6, during National Lutheran Schools Week. A limited number of tickets will be available. Warda Bunch Appreciation The Warda Bunch, supporters of the Lee County Junior Livestock Show Exhibitors, will have their organizational and appreciation luncheon on Sunday, Feb. 15 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Holy Cross picnic grounds.

The committee will furnish fried chicken and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to complete the meal. If you are interested in joining this group, please feel free to attend this meeting or contact (979) 5428372 with any questions you may have.

Rabbs Creek Wildlife 

Rabbs Creek Wildlife Association will meet on Sunday, Feb. 15 on the patio of the picnic grounds, a social will begin at 4 p.m. with a meal to follow at 5 p.m.

South Lee Co. BBQ Chicken South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department will have BBQ chickens on Sunday, Feb. 22. Pick up will be from 10-noon at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. Chickens are $12 each and 16 oz. cups of sauce, pinto beans, and noodles are $3 each. Order by Monday, Feb. 16 by calling (979) 3669650.

Bake Sale 

The Ladies of Serbin will hold a bake sale on Sunday, Feb. 22, in conjunction with the South Lee County VFD BBQ. There will be a variety of desserts, cakes, cookies, and breads. Funds raised will help support a seminary student and other LWML missions and ministry.

Open House 

St. Paul Lutheran in Serbin will have a Community and New Family Open House on Feb. 19 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. You will have the opportunity to tour the school, view their small class sizes, and discuss all they have to offer.

Chili, Cook Off and Auction 

St. Paul Lutheran in Serbin will be the site of a fun Chili Supper, Cook Off and Auction on Sunday, March 1. The fun begins at 4 p.m. There will be a silent auction, bake sale, live auction and a meal served from 5-7 p.m. Limited meal tickets are available at the door. $7 for cup of chili, or 2 hot dogs. There will also be a chili cookoff with check in at 1 p.m. Contact the school at (979) 366-9650 for more information, tickets, or to register your cookoff team.

Camp Lone Star Family Day 

Camp Lone Star in La-Grange will have a Family Day on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This includes a day full of adventure, connection, and Christ-centered fun for all ages. There is no cost to attend, however you are asked to register by March 14. Everyone is invited to join them for some quality family fun. Spring Break Day Camp will be March 9-13, designed for campers age 5-13 years old. Lifequest will be March 20-22, for grades 6-8. Summer Camp registration, for campers age 5-18 is open. Tejas Camp and Retreat Center in Warda will have their Annual Serve Day on Saturday, March 28. This is an opportunity for you to join in and help with some camp projects.

Sewing Circle 

The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. This is around the back side of the church. No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions.

Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, Feb. 19 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Little Free Library 

Take advantage of the Little Free Library in Warda. Books and puzzles for all ages are available. The Little Library is located under the covered entrance to Faith High School at Holy Cross Church.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Mid-week Lenten Services will be held on Feb. 18, 25, March 4, 11, 18 & 25 at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The GEMS group (girls in grade 5-12), are invited to a special “Gathered in Grace” tea on Sunday, Feb. 22 at Holy Cross in Warda at 2 p.m.
