Fair Association Kicks Off Campaign for Several Grounds Improvement Projects

An anonymous donor gave $20,000 to the Fayette County Fair association to kick off a “matching funds” campaign to benefit the fairgrounds improvement project.

The account is set up at Fayette Savings Bank.

Donations may be made at any Fayette Savings Bank location in La Grange, Schulenburg, Flatonia, or Weimar.

All donations of $500 or more will go to the “matching side” of the campaign. Donations less than $500 will be “matched” with funds from the matching side – “doubling” those donations. The Fair Association plans include:

• A new German Czech Mart food court area

• Restroom improvements

• Sound insulation at the Marge Rosenberg Stage

• Wing expansions at the Marge Rosenberg Stage

• Expanding and remodeling the Bier Garden

• Infrastructure imporvement • Expanding the existing Exhibit Hall

• “Climate Smart” projects Fair officials said these improvements will impact more than just the fair. The fairgrounds are used yearround for many other events like the MS 150, Best Little Cowboy Gathering, Jr. Livestock Show, and other events.
