Estrada Earns Another State Gold

La Grange High School’s Jose Estrada (center, above) was named an Outstanding Performer at the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest and received a UIL Music State Championship Gold Medal for his performance of Carnival of Venice at that event. This is Estrada’s second UIL Music State Championship Medal of the 2022-2023 academic year. Estrada was honored to receive such a rare honor, which according to the letter from UIL, is only awarded to the top 2% of all UIL Solo contestants. Estrada wishes to thank his parents, Jose and Brenda Estrada, his accompanist, Miles Gillette (right), his lesson teacher, Loren Parker, and his band director, Chris Cooper (left), for their support.
