Ellinger VFD Fundraiser Sunday

The fire department will hold the annual fundraiser on Sunday, April 30 at the chamber hall. The barbecue and sausage dinner is $12 a plate. Serving in the hall starts at 11 a.m. Chicken to go will be at the pits and costs $10 a chicken beginning at 10 a.m. The drive through will start at 10:30 a.m.

The auction will start at 1 p.m. Monetary donations or items for the auction can be left at Koehl’s Portable Buildings in Ellinger ahead of time and will be transported to the hall on Saturday, April 29.

Proceeds will be used to purchase a new rescue truck.

Ellinger Tomato Festival The 86th Tomato Festival will be held Friday, May 26-Sunday, May 28. Activities include the following: Friday-Margarita and Chips and Salsa, Entree and Dessert contest plus Round One of Chopped Challenge and Entertainment by The Broken Spokes from 8:3011:30 pm.

Saturday-Tomato Trot 5K Fun Run, BBQ Cookoff, Farmers Breakfast and Bloody Mary Contest, Final LIVE Chopped Challenge Showdown, Raffles, Face Painting Live auction at 7 p.m. followed by The Bandits. The Shared Lutheran Ministry will have Vacation Bible School in Rutersville the week of July 24.

Shared Lutheran Ministry Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Face book page.

Ellinger C of C Bingo The next Bingo will be May 6 at the chamber hall.

Situational Awareness Class There will be a free situational awareness class led by instructor Officer Tammy Jo McCleaney on May 7 from 2-5 p.m. The class will be at the Elinger Chamber of Commerce Hall. This event is sponsored by the City of Ellinger, Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department and the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce.
