Ellinger Couple Celebrates 50th Wedding Anniversary

    Ellinger Couple Celebrates 50th Wedding Anniversary

Greg and Debbie Hunger recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Murphy’s Steakhouse with family and friends.

The Hungers were married Jan. 17, 1976 at St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm. The reception and dance followed at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall.

Their immediate family includes their son Shawn and his wife Amanda and daughter Alicia and husband JB Cravens. They are blessed with four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Rutersville Cemetery Assoc. 

The annual meeting of the Rutersville CemeteryAssociation will be on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 7 pm. The meeting will be at the Rutersville Hermann Sons Lodge and all persons with loved ones buried at the cemetery are invited to attend.

Shared Lutheran Ministry St. John Lutheran, part of Shared Lutheran Ministry, will celebrate 25 years of formation with the three other churches on Sunday, Feb. 1. The day will hold many activities including worship at 10 am. The fried chicken lunch will start at 11:30 a.m. for dine in or drive through, catered by Gary Goebel, tickets are $15. Tickets can be purchased from Sharon Fritsch at (979) 9663515, Orsaks or the church office in Warrenton through Jan. 26. The celebration will be at the SPJST Hall in Fayetteville. There will also be a silent auction, live auction, kid activities, face painting and a cake walk. Pastor Jen Kindsvatter serves as Lead Pastor. All are welcome.

The confirmation group will meet on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 11:15 a.m. at St. John in Rutersville.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at Noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 am with communion.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church St. Mary’s Catholic Church mass is every Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Recycle Trailer 

The Fayette County recycle trailer will be in Ellinger on the chamber grounds on Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 1-3 p.m. Bring all your recyclables. Birthdays
