Dry Conditions Increasing Hog/Human Encounters

    Dry Conditions Increasing Hog/Human Encounters

Muldoon has been seeing some hot temperatures recently. This combined with the lack of rain has caused the grass and trees to really dry out. Please take extra caution when using any type of equipment or even pulling off the roadside into any grass. A dragging chain or a hot muffler could easily set off a grass fire. All it takes is a spark and fire will spread very quickly. An ounce of prevention can keep everyone safe.

Hogs

Yes, the hogs are still traveling through the area in large herds. With the hot and dry conditions this has brought on some movement in the wildlife population. They are seeking water and food, so be aware of this while out and about. When out walking be sure and take along something to maybe fend off a wild hog, because they do not seem to be bothered by people.

Out and About

Kathy and Frank Chlumsky enjoyed a visit from daughter Summer and her family. Grandkids, Marcus and Olivia, enjoyed their day playing in the hay barn and Olivia got to “drive” the sideby- side around the property. It was a great visit and they enjoyed a wonderful meal together.

Nancie and Billy Blair had a nice visit when daughter Teresa Holland and Christopher Mitchell came to celebrate Teresa’s 50th birthday. Teresa and Christopher came in from Pasadena for the day. Since it was so hot they opted to stay inside and watched a couple of movies and enjoyed the birthday pie.

School

It is August and that means school is starting in the area. Buses will be starting back up and teenagers will be driving to school. Please watch out for the change in traffic and for the kids standing by the roadside waiting for the buses in the mornings or for them getting off the bus in the afternoon. Remember do not pass a bus with the lights flashing.

Church News

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church hosted a musical Sunday on the last Sunday of July featuring the musical talents of John and Lynn Anderson. They had a nice crowd in attendance to hear the wonderful Christian music and their life testimony. It was a wonderful time especially, with a pot luck meal made by local cooks of some delicious food.

The SG2C would like to invite anyone who is looking for a church home to come and experience a service with them. They have something for all ages. Make plans to come out on Sunday mornings, beginning with coffee and fellowship at 9:30 a.m. with worship starting at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
