DPS to Locate a Sergeant’s Headquarters in Fayette Co.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has decided to establish a sergeant’s headquarters in Fayette County, according to Fayette County Judge Joe Weber.

“DPS has officially notified us that they are moving a sergeant’s headquarters here,” Weber said at a special Commissioners Court meeting last

Thursday.

The move will bring additional highway patrol troopers to the area. Weber said he hopes the DPS will also bring a drivers license office to Fayette County. Residents must currently drive out of the County for drivers license services.
