Development Continues Its Rapid Pace Locally

Real estate development continues to grow at a fast pace in rural Fayette County.

Fayette County inspector Clint Sternadel reported to the Commissioners Court last week that 33 new tracts of land were created in April, which he described as an “average” month. Sternadel oversees the issuance of septic permits for the County, and his monthly septic report provides a good indication of the number of new homes being built in the unincorporated areas of the County. According to his most recent report, Sternadel issued 19 septic permits in April and 29 in March.

His report listed 12 divisions of property during the month of April. Four of those were in Pct. 1, three were in Pct. 2 and five were in Pct. 4.

Pct. 4, which covers the southeast section of the County around Schulenburg, has recently emerged as a hotspot for real estate development in the County.
