Delays Continue to Push Back Hospital Reopening

Progressive Health Group, the new owners of the former St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange, had hoped to reopen the hospital as Progressive Health of Fayette earlier this year.

Dani Dominguez, a representative of Progressive Health, told the Record last week that the hospital is still awaiting its inspection and license from state regulators.

“Our goal was to open earlier,” Dominguez said. “The state has to do a walk through and the whole nine yards. They postponed it. They were supposed to be here March 23, but they moved it to April 23.” Dominguez said the hospital should open sometime after the state inspection. He said Progressive has completed all necessary repairs in the portion of the building that will be designated as the hospital.

“Everything has been repaired,” he said. “Some places need some work but they’re not deemed part of the hospital space.

“We can’t do anything without that license,” he said.

Dominguez invited the Record to visit the hospital this week, and he said he may have more information on the status of the reopening. Look for more in an upcoming edition of the Record.
