Czech Heritage Society Holds Annual Picnic

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society met for their annual picnic on June 13, in the Hanslik Hall of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange. Members and guests enjoyed singing Czech songs while Jimmy Fucik played the accordion. Dinner consisted of sausage wraps, side dishes, and desserts. Betty Danner opened the short business meeting. After the meeting, Carolyn Heinsohn informed the members that La Grange High School graduate, Anthony Weikel, was selected to receive the Fayette CHS scholarship. A silent auction was held during the evening and the members and guests played Czech-English bingo. Fayette County CHS will have a guest speaker at their next meeting on Oct. 8.
