CVCTX Supports Fayette County EMS With Training Scholarships
For the third consecutive year, Colorado Valley Communications (CVCTX) is proud to continue its partnership with Fayette County EMS by funding training scholarships that help local first responders advance their careers and strengthen emergency care across Fayette County.
The 2026 scholarship contribution was presented by CVCTX President Kelly Allison to licensed paramedic Maddi Welch alongside Fayette County EMS Director Josh Vandever.
EMS professionals serve on the front lines of Fayette County every day—often working 48-hour shifts that include overnight stays at their stations while responding to everything from vehicle accidents to medical emergencies. CVCTX’s scholarship program supports EMS team members pursuing EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced, and paramedic certifications, helping remove financial barriers to professional growth.
“This partnership is about more than funding—it’s about investing in the people who show up for our community in its most critical moments,” said Allison. “Our EMS teams sacrifice a great deal to care for others, and CVCTX is honored to support their continued training and leadership development.”
The impact of the program reaches far beyond individual recipients. Many scholarship participants have gone on to step into leadership roles within the department, helping mentor colleagues and elevate the overall level of care available to Fayette County residents.
Vandever shared his appreciation for the ongoing support: “CVCTX’s commitment has made a real difference for our team. These scholarships give our staff opportunities to grow professionally while directly improving the quality of service we provide to our neighbors.”
Fayette County EMS covers nearly 1,000 square miles with five full-time stations and responded to over 4,200 calls in 2025. In addition to emergency response, the department remains active in the community through CPR, first-aid, and ongoing training, as well as outreach to local students interested in healthcare careers.
By continuing this scholarship program for a third year, CVCTX reinforces its long-standing commitment to Fayette County supporting workforce development, strengthening local emergency services, and investing in the people who help keep the community safe.
