County Supports Fayetteville Pursuit Of a Cultural District Designation

Thursday the Fayette County Commissioners signed a resolution in support of the City of Fayetteville pursuing a cultural district designation. Sandra Borne, executive director of Arts for Rural Texas, said the City applied for a cultural district designation last year through the Texas Commission on the Arts.

“Unfortunately we didn’t get it,” Borne said. “There were nine applicants and they chose four. We were number five, so we feel really confident that we’ll get it this year. Especially with your support, we feel really good about it.”

The Commissioners Court resolution is one of the requirements for the application.
