County Officials Report on 2023 Activities

Fayette County assigned 355 new 9-1-1 addresses during 2023. Seven named subdivision roads were also recognized as private roads for mapping purposes and added to the Fayette 9-1-1 addressing system.

Fayette Co. Floodplain Manager and Permitting

During 2023, Fayette County Floodplain Manager approved 218 Development Permits. Of those 159 Residential (39 in Precinct 1, 53 in Precinct 2, 32 in Precinct 3, and 35 in Precinct 4), 42 Non-Residential (seven in Precinct 1, 15 in Precinct 2, 10 in Precinct 3, and 10 in Precinct 4) and 17 Oil and Gas (eight in Precinct 2, and nine in Precinct 3) for a total of $10,940.

The Permitting Office also took in 10 applications to Lay Temporary Water Lines in Right of Way Permits (two in Precinct 1, four in Precinct 2, and two in Precinct 3) for a total of $15,000 and eight applications for Road Bore “Crossing” Permits (eight in Precinct 2) for a total of $10,550.60.

During 2023, there were 127 divisions of property. Of those 127, 10 were exempted over 10 acres, 20 were exempted adjoining land owners, 46 were family exemptions, 40 were variances (under 10 acres), three were financial exemptions and seven were formal divisions (32 in Precinct 1, 42 in Precinct 2, 23 in Precinct 3, and 29 in Precinct 4) During 2023, there were 291 septic permits totaling $87,400.00.

Fayette County Juvenile Probation Department received 24 referrals from law enforcement for criminal offenses committed by juveniles, with 83% of the population being males and 17% being females. Of the 24 referrals, eight were Felony offenses, 15 were Class A or B offenses, and 1 Status Offense. The majority of these youth were between the ages of 14-16.
