Darren Houston remains on the run after he walked out of the courthouse on Jan. 12 during his trial for assault family violence.

Houston, 41 of Austin, was convicted and sentenced to prison on Jan. 12 for brutally beating his wife. Houston left the courthouse before the verdict was read and never returned. The jury sentenced him to 60 years in prison and a $10,000 fine despite his absence. La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said Fayette County Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to Houston’s capture.
