Construction Debris, Shingles Dumped Along Owl Creek Road

An out-of-town contractor allegedly dumped this pile of roof shingles and construction debris on Owl Creek Rd. last week.
Pct. 1 Commissioner Jason McBroom reports that someone dumped a huge pile of old roof shingles on Owl Creek Rd. Thursday night, July 20.
McBroom said he located the house where the shingles came from the next day after his wife posted about it on Facebook. The house was located in the Lynnwood subdivision of La Grange, he said. McBroom said a contractor from Austin had worked on the home.
McBroom said he tried reaching out to the contractor late last week but was unable to make contact. McBroom handed over the information he gathered to the Sheriff’s Office this week.
“I am just very thankful we were able to figure out where this mess came from,” McBroom said.
