The Clock Is Ticking To Get on Primary Ballot Here
Republican and Democratic candidates who wish to run in the March 5, 2024, Primary Elections have until Monday, Dec. 11, to file for a place on the ballot.
The following local offices are up for election next year; also listed are the incumbents and their political affiliation:
• County Attorney - Peggy Supak (D)
• Sheriff - Keith Korenek (R)
• County Tax Assessor-Collector - Sylvia Mendoza (R)
• Commissioner Pct. 1 Jason McBroom (R)
• Commissioner Pct. 1 Harvey Berckenhoff (R)
• Constable Pct. 1 - Wm Billy Roensch (R)
• Constable Pct. 2 - Roger Wunderlich (R)
• Constable Pct. 3 - Robert Chambers (R)
• Constable Pct. 4 - Jason Strickland (R)
• Republican County Chair - Deborah Frank (R)
• Democratic County Chair - Mary Wolf (D) Five of those incumbents, all Republicans, have filed for re-election as of Wednesday, Nov. 29: Keith Korenek for Sheriff, Jason McBroom for Commissioner Pct. 1, Harvey Berckenhoff for Commissioner Pct. 3, Wm Billy Roensch for Constable Pct. 1 and Roger Wunderlich for Constable Pct. 2. Republican and Democratic candidates must file with their respective County Chairs. In related news, Fayette County Elections Administrator Terri Hefner reports that her office will issue new voter registration certificates in December to all active registered voters in Fayette County. These renewal certificates will be valid for two years beginning on January 1, 2024. The cards will be issued on yellow card stock and mailed to the voter’s mailing address on file.
