Classic Cars Fill La Grange
The 33rdAnnualAll Texas Regional Meet of the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club took place in La Grange on Saturday, April 22.
The meet featured 17 exquisite models of Lincoln and Continental luxury cars from the 1950s and up. Storms passed across the area on Friday morning and again on Sunday, but the sky cleared for the event on Saturday.
“We couldn’t have asked for better weather,” said event organizer Gary Birk of Houston.
Russell Joseph hosted the event for the second year in a row at his property, the old La Grange Motor Company on Washington St.
The owners drove their cars in from all over Texas and beyond. The farthest traveled from New Orleans. The oldest model was a 1956 Continental. The newest was a 1997 Lincoln Town Car.
Prizes were awarded in various categories. The Best in Show award went to a navy blue 1979 Lincoln Town Car Collector Edition owned by David and Bernadette Boullosa of SanAntonio, who were first-timers to the event.
“That car was perfect,” Birk said. “It even had the leather tool bag that it came with from the factory.”
Birk said the group hopes to hold the event again in La Grange next year.
