    City of La Grange Police Chief Reports on Recent Activity

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of July 4-9.

Assault

On July 5, Officer Brett Meinardus responded to the 300 block of N. Horton where complainant advised multiple people in the front yard had assaulted his stepson.

Animal Complaint On July 9, Officer Kevin

On July 9, Officer Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 600 block of N. Franklin for an animal problem.

On July 9, Officer Thomas Keeney responded to the 600-block of N. Franklin in regard to loud dogs.

Agency Assist On July 5, Currington was

On July 5, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Ellinger for a gas leak. Officer arrived and city worker had shut off the gas.

Accident

On July 6, Officer Justin Koehne worked a traffic accident in the 1700 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business.

On July 9, Meinardus responded to the 1400 bock of N. Jefferson for a two-vehicle accident, no injuries.

On July 9, Currington was dispatched to the 1900 block of Hwy.159 for a minor accident. No injuries.

On July 9, Keeney responded to the 1800 block of E. State Hwy. 71 bypass in regard to a minor accident.

Burglary

On July 3, Officer John Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of Ellinger Rd. in regard to burglary.

Citizen Assist

On July 3, Wostarek responded to the 100 block of S. Lester for a citizen assist. On July 6, Officer Mitchell Maxell spoke with subject in regard to a citizen assist in the 100-block of E. Travis.

Civil Matter

On July 7, Koehne spoke with a caller about a civil matter in the 200 bock of E Guadalupe involving child custody.

On July 7, Koehne spoke with a subject in the 300 block of S. Madison about a restraining order.

On July 7, Koehne spoke with a caller in the 600 block of W. Lowerline about a civil matter.

Citizen Assist

On July 3, Office Mitchell Maxwell spoke to a subject in the 100-block of W. Fannin in regards to firework information.

On July 4, Koehne responded to the 200 block of W. Colorado to meet with subject.

Disturbance

On July 3, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Madison in regard to an irate subject.

Harassment

On July 6, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Franklin in regard to harassment.

Juvenile Complaint

On July 8, Currington was dispatched to the 600 block of E. Pearl for possible juvenile problem. Officer upon arrival found no problem at the location.

Loud Music

On July 5, Meinardus responded to the 1400 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for loud subjects. Officer checked the area but the subjects were gone.

Possession

On July 6, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Lowerline in regards to an agency assist. Subject was in possession of narcotics.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle

On July 3, Maxwell was dispatched to the 800 block of E. Lafayette in regards to a suspicious person.

On July 5, Meinardus responded to the 1400 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for a group of suspicious subjects. Officer was unable to locate.

On July 7, Koehne checked on a suspicious person in the 800 block of S. College.

Traffic Stop

On July 3, Koehne stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Hwy. 71 Business. Subjects were issued citations for minor in possession.

Trespassing

On July 8, Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of Cindy Ln. for a subject trespassing. Officer asked subject to leave at the request of property manger.

Theft

On July 6, Wostarek spoke with caller in the 700 block of N. Madison in reference to a theft.

Welfare Check On July 4, Currington did a welfare check in the 200 block of E. Pearl. Subject was fine.

On July 5, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Colorado for a welfare check. Customer could not reach them by phone but all was fine, they were having phone problems.

Warrant Arrest

On July 6, Maxwell arrested a subject on an outstanding felony warrant in the 400 block of W. Colorado. Subject was transported to the Fayette County Jail.

On July 6, Maxwell was dispatched to the 300 block of Wood Hollow in regards to an illegally parked vehicle. Officer made contact with the owner of the vehicle. The owner was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Miscellaneous

On July 4, Maxwell stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of E. Eblin. The subjects were in possession of narcotics. Subjects were cited and released.

On July 4, Currington was dispatched to the 2200 block of E. State Hwy. 71 bypass for a small wood fire of wood scraps. Advised subject of the burn ban and they covered the fire with dirt.

On July 4, Officer Thomas Keeney responded to the 500 block of W. Lower Line in response to a fireworks complaint. Nothing was found.

On July 5, Currington checked the area of 1000 Hwy.77 for a reckless driver. Officer was unable to locate.

On July 7, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 71 bypass in regards to a narcotics complaint.

On July 7, Koehne responded to the 500 block of E. Fannin for a reckless driver complaint.

On July 8, Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of S. Main in reference to a scam.
