City Council Grants Subdivision Requests

The La Grange City Council granted preliminary approval to a pair of property subdivision requests at their meeting Monday night, Jan. 8.

SBA Investment Group, a company owned by siblings Stuart, Brandon and Alex Schielack, requested permission to rearrange two lots off North Von Minden that total about 7.5 acres.

In a letter to the City, SBA says they plan to use the first lot, a 5.244 acre tract, for multi-family housing.

For the second lot, a 2.248 acre tract, SBA plans to build a facility for youth sports activities and professional office space. Brandon Schielack told the Record that he and his siblings want to build batting cages on the property. Their plans also include a possible second building phase involving retail or office space.

The City Council voted unanimously to grant preliminary approval to the request from SBA Investments.

The Council also voted unanimously to grant preliminary approval to a subdivision request from Steven and Staci Karstedt. The Karstedts own a lot with a home at 199 Riverside Dr. They wish to divide the property into two tracts that will be 75 feet by 140.8 feet in size. The existing home will sit on one of the lots. The other lot would be for a future home.
