Christmas Parades to Light Up Fayette County

The annual Schmeckenfest parade in La Grange (5:15 p.m. Thursday Dec. 1) will include lots of Christmas lights, but if you haven’t gotten your fill there’s weekend opportunities for two more lighted parades.

• Former Texas Governor Rick Perry will be the parade marshal for the Round Top Lighted Christmas Parade which will start at 6:45 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 3. The parade will go from S. White Street at Bauer Rummel to Mill Street, around the Town Square and back down Washington Street/ Hwy 237. Stick around after the parade for the movie screening of “A Christmas Story” on the town square.

• The Annual Fayetteville Country Christmas celebration will feature a Lighted Parade at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, Dec. 10. Christmas caroling on the Square begins at 5 p.m.
