Locals Talk Favorite Christmas Moments; Best & Worst Gifts – and Fruitcake

During this hectic holiday season, nine of your Fayette County neighbors paused to share some special Christmas moments. They answered questions about their favorite memories, best and worst childhood gifts and favorite Christmas melody. They also drove a stake into the ground on whether or not they eat fruitcake. Merry Christmas!

One year, I was so excited because there was a gift under the tree from my husband. It was a pair of hearing aids he had gotten for himself so I’d quit yelling when I talked to him. That wouldn’t have been quite as bad if I hadn’t gotten so excited that he had actually given me a gift. My anticipation was my downfall!

My favorite Christmas hymn is Silent Night.

As for fruitcake, sure I’ll eat it, as long as it’s NOT soaked in rum.
