Open House

Monster Dash

Turtle Wing Foundation will be hosting their 10th Annual Monster Dash on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 5-7 p.m. at Jack & Mary’s, 610 Lyons Ave. in Schulenburg. The event will consist of the “BooAround the Block” with plenty of local businesses and organizations handing out candy, the Jack Hooper Costume Contest, a performance by On Pointe Dance Studio, a silent auction, and of course, the Monster Dash. Come out and see if you’re the fastest or the scariest in town, it will be spook-tacular. Open House

You are cordially invited to attend an open house for Air Evac Lifeteam 47 in La Grange. Air Evac is back to 24 hours. Have you ever wondered how Air Evac delivers its services? CDA No. 1962 Meeting

The CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum will meet on Monday, Oct. 24 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewcz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. The Court will be accepting donations for Bethlehem Maternity Home in Victoria. Members are encouraged to attend and potential new members are always welcomed.

College, Career and Military Night

The Annual La Grange College, Career and Military Night will be held on Monday, Oct. 24 from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at the La Grange High School Gym located at 820 S. Vail La Grange.

Fayette County Farm Bureau Meeting

The Fayette County Farm Bureau will hold its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the KC Hall in La Grange. Social is from 6-7 p.m. Meal will be served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance for members by Oct. 20 and $9 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Fayette County Farm Bureau office in La Grange. No to-go plates. RSVP by Oct. 20. Enjoy door prizes an raffle prizes.

Hab-O-Ween Laser Tag

Join Fayette County Habitat for Humanity at the Fayette County Fairgrounds for Hab-O-Ween laser tag! Games will take place Oct. 27-30 between 5-9 p.m. each day. Tickets are $10 (5v5 or PVP). La Grange Garden Club

The La Grange Garden Club will meet for its regular monthly meeting at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 E. Pearl St. The meeting will include a program on the care and uses of herb plants given by Cindy Meredith, owner of The Herb Cottage & Nursery. Everyone is invited to attend, especially members, so bring a friend to benefit from this interesting and educational program. Light refreshments will be served. Kaluza Family Reunion

The descendants of Frank and Elizabeth Kaluza will hold their 22nd Biennial Family Reunion on Saturday, Nov. 5. All relatives and guests are welcome to come to the KJT Hall in Ammannsville to enjoy the get-together. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. All families are requested to bring an entree and a vegetable dish or dessert. A buffet style meal will be served at noon. A short meeting and silent auction will follow. The hosting family is the Bedrich and Filomena Rohan family.

Kindergarten Gifted and Talented

La Grange ISD is taking Kindergarten nominations for the Gifted and Talented program for the 2022-2023 school year. The Talent Pool/LEAP programs are designed to provide additional challenge and stimulation for academically talented students. Parents, teachers, and community members may nominate students currently enrolled in the LGISD Kindergarten program to participate in the screening process to determine eligibility for the gifted program. Nomination forms are available in the LGISD Elementary campus office or on the La Grange ISD website under “Gifted and Talented”. All nominations are due by Nov. 7. Sunset Shopping in Schulenburg

Save the date for “Sunset Shopping in Schulenburg on Nov. 5, the first Saturday of the month. Join Schulenburg businesses from 4-8 p.m. for an evening of fun, fellowship and early Christmas shopping with discounts. Refreshments are being served at selected locations. Each purchase will earn raffle tickets for a gift basket drawing at Jack and Mary’s at 8:45 p.m.

Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support

Loss of a Child Support Group

Christmas Arts and Crafts Market

Hospice Brazos Valley is again sponsoring the Hospice Brazos Valley Christmas Arts and Craft Market and wreath sale. The market will be in the Casino Hall located at 254 N Jefferson St. in La Grange on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. It’s a wonderful time of the year to shop for Christmas presents, all home made. While you are shopping know that you are supporting a good cause. Hospice Brazos Valley is the only non-profit hospice in this area and the funds raised from the market booth rents and wreath sales help to provide services to those families who have no other means to pay for the services.
