Charges Pending For Mullins Prairie Burglars
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office identified suspects who they say are responsible for the crime spree last week around Mullins Prairie.
The thieves broke into Mullins Prairie Store last Monday and stole several bottles of liquor and cases of beer from. That same day, local residents discovered a break-in a New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church on Loehr Rd. The glass doors and windows to the church were shattered, and the inside was ransacked.
Lt. David Beyer of the Sheriff’s Office told the Record last Friday that investigators believe the group of culprits they identified were responsible for both crimes. He said the suspects are also believed to be responsible for shooting a tractor in the area about two weeks ago and a mailbox that was recently stolen in the area.
Beyer said the suspects may be arrested this week. The Sheriff’s Office will release their names upon arrest, he said.
