Champion Steer Sells for $10,000 in Schulenburg

Crockett Guenther, right, exhibited the grand champion steer at the Schulenburg Junior Livestock Show, which took place last week and concluded with the awards ceremony and sale on Saturday, Jan. 20. Guenther’s steer weighed !,430 lbs. and sold for $10,000 at auction. The buyer was Middle Creek Ranch, represented by owner David Hodge and Alex Voskamp (standing behind the steer). Guenther also won grand champion in the Livestock Proficiency Quiz. Haley Schramek (left) is holding Guenther’s grand champion banners and buckle.
