CattleWomen Meeting Includes Visit With Texas CattleWomen Leadership

The Navidad Valley CattleWomen (NVCW) is a nonprofit organization with the primary focus of beef promotion and education in South Central Texas. The Navidad Valley local works to support local youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet. Additionally, they work to support the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist. The next Cattle-Women business meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Orsak’s Café in Fayetteville. The meeting will begin with a Dutch treat lunch at 11:30 a.m.

The speaker this month is Sharon Meiers. Relocation over the years has given Sharon the chance to be a member of West of the Pecos, Navidad Valley, and now Washington County CattleWomen. Sharon is presently the president-elect of Texas CattleWomen (TCW) and has represented Texas numerous times at American National CattleWomen meetings. As a member of Navidad Valley CattleWomen, all members are also Texas CattleWomen.

Texas is an affiliate of American National Cattle-Women (ANCW), and TCW leadership are mandated to be ANCW members. Sharon will share her membership journey and explain why she feels it is important for all members to be a part of the national organization. Additionally membership will discuss the results of their major fundraiser, the 5K Ranch Run, and make plans for their scholarship distributions in 2023. Interested ladies are always welcome. If you plan to attend or would like to carpool to the meeting, please contact president, Tanya Schindler at (979) 743-1737 or tanya@sctxsales. com.

Being an active cattle producer is not a requirement but having a passion for the beef industry and rural living is.
