The students, faculty, and staff of Sacred Heart Catholic School in La Grange will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week Jan. 29-Feb. 4. The theme for this year’s events is “Joyful Disciples’’.

The first part of our Vocations Day starts with a visit from the Dominican Sisters on Friday, Jan. 27 to share their message about devotion and faith. Most of the day, the sisters will be sharing in the joy of our campus and classrooms with opportunities to interact in our learning experiences. During the following week, students will write reflections and thank you letters to share with the sisters to commemorate Vocations Day.

The week will begin with an opening Mass at 9 a.m. Sunday morning, Jan. 29. Students will participate in the Mass in the entrance procession and serve in other ministries. This is also the opening day for our Book Fair which will begin in the school after the 9 a.m. Mass and continue throughout the week ending on Friday, Feb. 3 at noon. Thursday the Book Fair will be open until 6 p.m. for anyone who wishes to come by to shop our selections of books.

Monday, Jan. 30 Community Day: This year our community service project supports the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Our campaign is “Help Holy Rosary,” and students have the opportunity to buy out of their uniform and free dress for Wednesday with a donation to the cause.

Tuesday, Jan. 31-Parent/ Grandparent Breakfast: Parents and grandparents will join their child(ren) for a breakfast of donuts, juice, and coffee that will be served in the school cafeteria from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m.
