Carmine Chamber Hosting Texas Mixer Friday

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its annual Texas Mixer awards and membership drive on Friday, Feb. 27 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.
A complimentary TexMex dinner and drinks will be served, along with door prizes. All are welcome to attend this free event to meet neighbors, learn more about the Chamber, and find ways to support Carmine.
Awards will be given out for Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year.

RT-C School News
Jessica Rohde was named homecoming queen and Treveon Fisher basketball beau on Feb. 13 after the basketball game.
Round Top-Carmine girls’ basketball team defeated Nordheim at Yoakum on Feb. 17 to win the bi-district playoff game. The team was to have played Nueces Canyon at Johnson City on Feb. 19 in the area round of the playoffs. Listen to local news for results.
Baseball season begins on Feb. 26. The High School team will participate in the Tiger Invitational tournament in Thrall Feb. 26 to 28.
Feb. 27 is a student holiday and professional development day.
The next FFA meeting will be held on March 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Spring Break is scheduled for March 9-13.
Carmine Bingo
Bingo will be held at the Carmine Hall on Friday, March 6. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the games start at 6 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
There will be twelve regular games and two cover-all games. License number is 356789. Money goes toward renovations of the Carmine Hall. More information may be found at www.carminehall. org.
Ledbetter Bingo
Bingo for Seniors (60 and older plus guests) is coming up on Sunday, March 8 from 2-4 p.m. at the Ledbetter Community Center. Doors open at 1:15 p.m.
Five dollars covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Snacks and drinks are available for a donation. This is a non-profit community event for entertainment. Money collected is used for purchase of prizes and other expenses.
Carmine Cemetery
The Carmine Cemetery Association decided at its annual meeting on Feb. 15 to start selling burial plots in section AA. The cost of each of these plots will be $550. The plots still available in sections A, B, and C will remain at $500 per site.

RT-C Comeback Classic The RT-C Booster Club is sponsoring a fundraiser with the RT-C Comeback Classic on Saturday, March 7. It includes fish, fastballs, fun, and fellowship and will take place at the baseball field and Carmine Hall.
At the high school, alumni batting practice begins at 11 a.m., followed by the home run derby ($5 entry fee) at 12 p.m. The Alumni baseball game begins at 1:30 p.m. R&R snow cones and concessions will be available.
At the Carmine Hall, happy hour and music start at 4 p.m. Alumni and winner recognition is at 4:45 p.m. A Fish Fry will be served beginning at 5 p.m. and a Cornhole Tourney ($50 per team) starts at 5:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for top cornhole teams.
Event tickets are $25 per person and include all-youcan- eat fried fish, trimmings, tea and water, and two free drink tickets. Additional drinks are available for purchase (21 plus).

Rebekah Group
Ten members were present for the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Rebekah Group meeting on Feb. 12. Present were Dianna Gerland, Sedalia Ullrich, Joys Baird, Stephanie Sanders, Leonita Sanders, Sharon Rhome, Diana Wunderlich, Joann Ullrich, Nancy Eilers, and Susan Ray.
The theme for the Bible study was an article in the Gather magazine, “This Lent, let’s Connect Intentionally.” Joys Baird let the study which was about positive ideas for Lent.
Thelma Hinze sent a thank-you note for the poinsettia and cookies brought to her for Christmas.
Quilting was on Feb. 9 for Lutheran World Relief. Items for baby-care kits were collected during January for LWR. Still needed were cloth diapers.
A nursing home and an assisted living facility have been contacted for parties.
The theme for the WELCA salad supper on June 3 is “Feeding the Multitude.” Members could provide food for decorations. In February, non-perishable food will be collected for AMEN.
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus will host the Western Cluster Spring Happening in Columbus on April 18.
Birthday celebrants included Leonita Sanders and Ora Lee Levien.
Hostesses were Dianna Gerland and Joann Ullrich.
MLLC News
Senior Citizens meet Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for meal pick-up and dominoes.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top is hosting all the Lenten worship services for the Crossroads Lutheran Ministry on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. with the Rev. John David Nedbalek leading the services. On Feb. 25, St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby will provide the meal at 6 p.m.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Second Sunday of Lent, is Sunday, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bonnie Parker serving as the guest pastor.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.
Senior Citizens
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250AugsburgAve. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
