Carmine Cemetery Association to Meet Sunday
The Carmine Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 11:15 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, located on Augsburg Ave. All members and anyone interested in the cemetery are invited to attend.
Donations to the cemetery are appreciated and may be mailed to P.O. Box 281, Carmine, TX 78932.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine JV boys’ and varsity girls’ and boys’ basketball teams play at Richards on Jan. 20 with the first game at 5. These teams host Fayetteville on Jan. 23 also at 5. Varsity girls and boys play at Calvert on Jan. 27.
Jr. High girls and boys play at Dime Box on Jan. 22 at 5 p.m. The teams host North Zulch on Jan. 29 also at 5. This will be parent’s night for Jr. High.
Looking ahead, Homecoming is scheduled for Feb. A Dual Credit meeting for tenth grade will be held on Jan. 21.
Blood Drive
The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center had a Blood Drive at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on Sunday, Jan. 18. It will not be on Jan. 25.
Bingo
Bingo party at the Carmine Hall will be on Friday, Jan. 30. Doors open at 4 p.m. with games starting at 6 p.m. Twelve regular games will be played, along with two coverall games.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Small School, Big Hearts The Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation’s annual “Small School, Big Hearts Celebration” is on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Meal is served from 5 - 6 p.m.

A Silent Auction begins the week before the event and a Live Auction will be held at the celebration.

Fried Chicken Meal
The Carmine Hall is sponsoring a fried chicken meal on Sunday, Feb. 22. Pick up is at the Carmine Hall from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Advance-only tickets must be purchased by Feb. 14. Tickets are available at Carmine State Bank, from hall members, and by calling (214) 7321014.
Desserts are available for a donation and this supports the scholarship fund.
Carmine Lions
The Carmine Lions Club is sponsoring an evening of country music in support of the Carmine Hall and the Carmine Lions Club. The Heart of Carmine will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12 at the Carmine Hall featuring Allison Crowson & her Tribute Show Band with Bill Mock and Donovan Pavlock.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the meal at 6:30 p.m., followed by the show. A table for eight is $1,000 and includes a Prime Ribeye and Shrimp Dinner by Sandtown Catering. Drinks and Community Spirit are included. Individual tickets are available upon request.

Carmine 42 Club
The Carmine 42 Club met on Jan. 7 at JW’s Steakhouse in Carmine for the first match of 2026. After enjoying a delicious meal, eight games of 42 were played.
The high-scoring partners were Carol Naegeli and La Verne Albers with a score of 2030. The next highest score was achieved by Myrt Meinkowsky and Betty Porter with a score of 1781. Partners Jeanette Schoenst and Marlene Waak played one hand of 84 and one hand of 168 (that is three raises or 42 times 4). Edith Flinn and Avalda Pohl also enjoyed playing the games.
MLLC News
Senior Citizen meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Confirmation class meets Wednesday from 4:15 - 6:15 p.m.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship service with Holy Communion, observing the Third Sunday after Epiphany, is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.
Recycle Trailer
The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1 - 4 p.m.
Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
