Central Texas Food Bank The Central Texas Food Bank will be in the parking lot of Waldeck Evangelical Lutheran Church on Feb. 21 from 10-11 a.m. It is located near the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145.
It is drive-through only. Clients are reminded to please have room in your car or truck for volunteers to place the food. It is for Fayette County residents.
Texas Mixer Awards
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its annual Texas Mixer awards and membership drive on Friday, Feb. 27 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.
A complimentary TexMex dinner and drinks will be served, along with door prizes. All are welcome to attend this free event to meet neighbors and learn more about the Chamber and ways to support Carmine.
Awards will be given out for Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year.

Souper Bowl of Caring The Lutheran Youth Organization of Martin Luther Lutheran Church is collecting monetary donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring through the end of February.
This is an annual fund raiser for the local AMEN food pantry in La Grange. All proceeds will directly support this Fayette County food pantry located in La Grange.
RT-C Booster Club
The RT-C Booster Club is sponsoring a fundraiser with the RT-C Comeback Classic on Saturday, March 7. It includes fish, fastballs, fun, and fellowship and will take place at the baseball field and Carmine Hall.
At the high school, alumni batting practice begins at 11 a.m., followed by the home run derby ($5 entry fee) at 12 p.m. The Alumni baseball game begins at 1:30 p.m. R&R snow cones and concessions will be available.
At the Carmine Hall, happy hour and music start at 4 p.m. Alumni and winner recognition is at 4:45 p.m. A Fish Fry will be served beginning at 5 p.m. and a Cornhole Tourney ($50 per team) starts at 5:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for top cornhole teams.
Event tickets are $25 per person and include all-youcan- eat fried fish, trimmings, tea and water, and two free drink tickets. Additional drinks are available for purchase (21 plus).

Carmine 42 Domino Club The Carmine 42 Domino Club met on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at JW’s Steakhouse in Carmine for its monthly match. After eating lunch, eight challenging games of 42 were played among partners determined by drawing for positions at the tables.
The high-scoring partners were Myrt Meinkowsky and Betty Porter with a score of 2116 and they played a hand of 126. The next highest score was achieved by Edith Flinn and Marlene Waak with a score of 1574 and they played two hands of 84 and one hand of 126. Partners La Verne Albers and Jeanette Schoenst successfully played two hands of 84. Also, Donna Mueller and Carol Naegeli played two hands of 84 Everyone enjoyed the challenging domino games and fellowship. This group will meet again on March 4.
MLLC News
Senior Citizen meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Ash Wednesday worship with Holy Communion and imposition of ashes is at 7:30 p.m., with the Rev. Ken Weiss leading the service.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship service with Holy Communion, observing the First Sunday of Lent, is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.
Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot and Museum is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. It is located at 248 E Sylvan, Carmine, TX 78932, which is on the south side of Hwy. 290.
