Camper Trailer Destroyed in Fire

The La Grange Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a camper trailer that caught fire just west of La Grange last Monday morning.

The call came in around 10:30 a.m. reporting a structure fire at property on Trinity School Rd. Upon arrival firefighters found a fifth wheel camper trailer completely engulfed in flames.

Fire Chief Frank Menefee said no one was at the property. He did not know whether anyone lived in the camper. Power was disconnected from the trailer, he said. Menefee did not know how the fire started. No one was at the property when firefighters arrived.

La Grange VFD responded with an engine, a tanker and two quick response trucks, along with Menefee’s command vehicle. Fayette County EMS and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office also responded.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and left the scene shortly after noon.
