Burn Ban Lifted
Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller lifted the burn ban effective Oct. 31, 2023
After receiving abundant rainfall over the past several days, County Judge Dan Mueller lifts the burn ban beginning Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 6:00 a.m. Everyone is asked to exercise extreme care and caution when burning and you must plan the activity so that you are always present until the fire is completely out. Please contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department at 979-968-5856 or 743-HELP (743-4357) and advise them of your intent to burn.
Judge Mueller pleads with all citizens to please use common sense when burning and to be advised of the following:
- Start burns early in the morning and make sure they are extinguished before sunset (this a TCEQ rule);
- If burning trash, please have a water hose nearby;
- Do not burn in windy conditions;
- Have a safe zone around the burn;
- Do not leave burns unattended;
- If a burn gets out of control, call 911 immediately.
