Brenek Reports on Traffic Stops

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of April 2-8.

Traffic Stops

On April 3, Sgt. Tobey McFadden stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Lyons Avenue for a defective tail lamp.

On April 3, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler in a school zone going 40 in a 25. Driver received a citation.

On April 3, Krenek stopped a vehicle for expired motor vehicle registration. Driver issued a warning.

On April 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 50 in a 25.

On April 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 25 block of N. Kessler for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

On April 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for operating an unregistered motor vehicle A search was conducted and a small amount of marijuana was located and disposed of on scene. Driver received a citation for no driver’s license and released from the scene.

On April 7, McFadden stopped a driver in the 600 block of Summit for failing to maintain a single lane. During the stop officer discovered driver did jot have a valid drivers license. Driver contacted a licensed driver to operate the vehicle.

On April 7, McFadden stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for license plate not being visible from 50 feet. Warning issued.

On April 7, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 60 block of Kessler for driving without headlights when required. Driver issued a warning.

On April 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for running a red light. Driver received a citation.
