Bread Basket Store/Market Coming to La Grange

One of the most highlytraveled areas of La Grange is getting a new convenience store and gas station, said La Grange city manager jack Thompson.

Construction began recently on a new 8,100 square foot complex called Bread Basket at the intersection of Highway 77 and the Highway 71 bypass.

There are currently 21 Bread Basket locations, most in the Austin area. There are locations in both Bastrop and Giddings.

Larger than a typical convenience store, Bread Baskets also sells produce, deli and meats. Thompson said his guess on completion for a project of this size would be 9-10 months. There had been significant incorrect online chatter about the site being a Jack-In-the-Box.
