Boys and Girls State Attendees Speak
At the July meeting of the American Legion Post 102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 102, two La Grange High School students gave reports on their attendance to Boys State and Girls State. These programs are held every year, in June, for high school students who will be seniors in the fall. They learn how government works from the local level to the state level by participating in mock governments. The final day of the week long program has the participants demonstrating what they have learned by going to the Capitol in Austin and participating in mock debates there.
