Bluff Road Alternatives To Be Unveiled Thursday
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will unveil potential alternative routes for US 77 in Fayette County at an open house meeting on Thursday, Oct. 5.
The open house will take place this Thursday at the VFW Hall in La Grange, located at 500 Veterans Memorial Dr., from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Attendees are welcome to come and go any time during those hours and will be able to review project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and consultants, and leave written comments.
The meeting this Thursday is a follow-up to the open house held on June 29, at which TxDOT collected comments and concerns from the public about traffic hazards on US 77.
Many folks in the La Grange have long-called for an alternative route for 18-wheelers to avoid the curvy section of highway south of La Grange at the Bluff.
TxDOT will also offer a virtual open house for anyone who cannot attend in-person. It can be viewed online starting at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oct. 5, and will remain available for viewing at the web address indicated below through Friday, Oct. 20. To view the virtual open house, go to www. txdot.gov at the date and time indicated above and type the keywords “US 77 La Grange” into the search box on the top right of the webpage or use the URL: www.txdot.gov/projects/ hearings-meetings/yoakum/ us77-la-grange-feasibilitystudy- 100523.html.
