Bluebonnets Popping Up Locally

  • A few patches of bluebonnets began popping up in the area over the last couple of weeks, including this one growing along the side of Travis St. in La Grange next to the Old City Cemetery. It’s a little early for bluebonnets. Bluebonnets typically start blooming between the end of March and mid- to late-April, according to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. However, ample winter rain and warm temperatures this time of year can boost their blooming potential. Photo by Andy Behlen
