Blinn Board Holds Tuition, Fees Steady for Second Straight Year

The Blinn College District Board of Trustees voted Tuesday to maintain tuition and general fee rates for the 202627 academic year, marking the second consecutive year the board has not changed these rates.

The board set in-district tuition at $64 per semester credit hour for students residing in Washington County, which comprises Blinn’s taxing district. Out-of-district Texas residents will continue to pay $123 per credit hour, and outof- state students will pay $279 per credit hour. Trustees also held the general fee steady at $80 per credit hour.

In addition to maintaining tuition and fees, the Board approved several modest adjustments to auxiliary services. Housing rates will increase by an average of 1%, while food service plans also rise by 1%. Trustees also approved select course, lab, and auxiliary fee adjustments designed to offset program costs.

According to recent data from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Blinn students save 52% in tuition and general fees compared to the average Texas public university rates. Additionally, Blinn offers more than 350 endowed scholarships, and the Washington County and Austin County scholarships provide up to $2,250 in tuition support (up to $750 per semester) for residents of those Texas counties. These scholarships have no need requirements and disburse on a last-dollar basis, meaning the scholarship funds will be applied toward eligible students’ tuition costs after all other financial aid awards have been applied toward their balance.
